The Second Meeting in Liepaja
Second partners meeting took place in Latvia, Liepaja University 5-6 of April.
The main purpose of the meeting was to present culture interaction between Baltic and Nordic countries and to share insights in to the cultural Footprints.
Partners from Tallinn University presented cultural tourism situation and existing cultural tourism routes in Estonia. Estonia is branded as a perfect music holiday destination. Most popular Cultural tourism routs are: Livonian Culinary Route, Sauna route, Onion route, Manors in Estonia and others.
Latvian partners presented 7 new cultural tourism routes devoted to Latvia’s 100th anniversary of statehood. Kurzeme region and Liepaja are attractive not only because of long coastline, but also rich historical Lithuanian footprints.
Swedish partners presented history during and after WWII involving all Baltic countries and famous personalities of that time. Among the most popular tourism routs in Sweden are mentioned The Hansa Route (1991), The Viking Routes (1993), The European Cemeteries Route (2010) and The European Route of Megalithic Culture (2013).
Lithuanian presentation on cultural heritage, values and routes revealed that the most visited cultural places in Lithuania are: The Curonian Spit, the Hillforts in Kernavė, The Hill of Crosses, Trakai Castle, Grūtas Park, Kaunas modern architecture, Rumšiškės - largest open air museums in Europe which presents a rich mosaic of ancient Lithuanian villages and other.
